Brookbank Carlisle are one of the largest canoe and kayak equipment suppliers in the UK. We aim to provide the best service in our industry and judging by our large and ever growing number of loyal customers we are not the only ones who think we do a good job.
We started out in 1998 when Jim Wilson set up Carlisle Canoes based on a small shop on Wigton Road in Carlisle, The business grew quickly, so he moved to a larger shop still on Wigton Road, but still up some stairs. With room for only 40 kayaks and Canoes on display we also had an off site storage area for the extra kayaks
Jim Retired from the business in October 2006, with Mark from Brookbank taking over the business. It was added to the portfolio of 4 other shops around the country. Since then we have seen the business continue to grow, and inevitably we out grew the shop, In February 2008 we moved into our new showroom next to the Motorway which enables us to have over 150 boats on show at an one time, plus some boat storage in a light bright unit, with NO STAIRS! The bright light, airy unit is an excellent place to compare kayaks, or canoes side by side.
At the same time as the move we decided to change our name to Brookbank Carlisle, still the same people, Just letting everyone know we are proud to be part of the largest Canoe and Kayak retailers in the country.
We carry the largest range and quantity of stock of any UK supplier and we have over 150 boats well displayed, easy to compare,and in stock at any time. We also have access to over 1000 boats within 7 days thanks to our large warehousing facilities. We also have thousands of accessory and clothing lines in stock meaning that we are usually able to supply what you want quickly. We continually look out for new products that are better, cheaper, and more suited for your needs.
We always aim to offer the best impartial advice possible for you to make an informed choice when it comes to purchasing your equipment. Our staff are all keen Paddlers with experience in various aspects of paddlesports from touring, sit on tops, canoeing, sea kayaking to white water. If you have any doubts, we do have demo boats available.
